When it comes to ICU filters, hospitals, distributors and OEM buyers must think carefully about not just cost and availability, but performance matching clinical requirements over longer periods of ventilation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What is an ICU HME filter?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>An ICU HME filter (Heat and Moisture Exchange Filter) is a disposable breathing filter that is used in ventilator tubes to provide: Passive humidification Bacterial and viral filtration Reduction in airway dryness They salvage heat and moisture from exhaled gases and refund these to the lungs in inhaled gases, while at the same time cleaning them of airborne contaminants.
